Job Overview
Position: Project Engineer (Senior or Lead)
Location: Saint Charles, MO
Team: Precision Engagement Systems (PES), part of the Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization.
The role involves collaborating with program managers, contracts, estimating, supply chain, engineering, and customers to execute programs on Direct Attack and Cruise Missile systems. The selected candidate provides engineering leadership to a multidisciplinary team, supports program integration, and may also lead international project management functions.
Position Responsibilities- Work with internal and external customers to identify requirements and build plans that meet their needs.
- Track progress against cost, schedule, and technical performance using Boeing Program Management Best Practices and Earned Value Management.
- Support the development of customer proposals, including competitive pricing and delivery dates.
- Engage regularly with supply‑chain leadership to monitor supplier quality and performance.
- Resolve technical issues through coordination with engineering and the Chief Engineer.
- Manage deliverables by defining plans for risk mitigation, issues, and opportunities; monitor baseline plans to assess project performance and productivity.
- Brief customers and leadership on program status, risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Standardize, develop, and document processes.
- Provide additional support such as corrective action requests, export authority support, and lean/process improvements.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required to support program execution.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required) with an interim or final U.S. Secret clearance post‑start.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a non‑U.S. equivalent related to the work.
- 3+ years of experience leading or managing multidisciplinary engineering project teams.
- Level 4: 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Level 5: 10+ years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Project Management Professional certification.
- Experience with proposal development and contract negotiations.
- Experience with export compliance or international programs.
- Experience developing and tracking program plans, schedules, and budgets for technical projects.
- Project management experience in an engineering environment.
- Experience supporting weapons systems.
- Experience working directly with government customers.
- Experience collaborating across functions and organizations.

Senior (Level
4): $136,850 – $185,150;
Lead (Level
5): $164,900 – $223,100.
