Job Title
Long time client continues to grow and expand their business segments, as they specialize in developing, manufacturing, and markets specialty ingredients that improve and enhance the health and well-being, and provide state-of-the-art solutions and the finest quality products for a range of industries worldwide. The company consists of three business segments:
Human Nutrition & Health;
Animal Nutrition & Health; and Specialty Products, employs over 1,400 people worldwide.
- Thorough understanding of the equipment and troubleshoot reliability issues
- Manage and coordinate process improvement activities to achieve safety, quality, production, and efficiency goals
- Provide oversight to the maintenance department
- Participate in evaluating and implementing projects that reduce cost, increase value, and improve quality;
Lead Continuous Improvement; develop and evaluate Lean/Six-Sigma opportunities and coordinate and assist in implementation Leading to Batch Right First Time Every Time - Deliver timely and effective technical support to address immediate or long-term operational issues
- Collaborate with facility management to define technical needs and required improvement, recommend capital projects and assist in the execution and startup of projects.
- Interface effectively with other departments and team members such as commercial, accounting, QA and procurement
- Assist in ensuring that all Safety, Health and Environmental systems are upheld to ensure environmental compliance and safety
- Part of an integrated team that ensures operational performance of new installations, product scale ups and training the operators.
- Participate in reviewing production data routinely to ensure accuracy and analyze for improvements
- Set a positive leadership example and develop/inspire supervisors, operators and mechanics to more effectively perform their responsibilities
- Participates in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and train operators on processes and process changes
- Support all new product introductions and trials. Assist in the development of new products and processes
- Helps improve Quality performance through variability reduction
- Generate downtime analysis reports and performs Pareto Analysis on results
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field (prefer mechanical, industrial, electrical, and then maybe chemical)
- 5-8 years of plant engineering experience with an emphasis on troubleshooting and improving processes
- Proven data management and analysis skills
- Problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to foster teamwork in an organization
- Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of processing and the ability to instruct and train operators on best practices and GMP
- Must be willing to take ownership of a problem and have a positive, “can do” attitude
- Able to demonstrate strategic leadership skills
- Enthusiastic/positive approach to their work
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work self-directed (day to day). High level of initiative, priority setting.
