The Transportation Project Manageris a pivotal role within our Transportation Practice Group, offering the opportunity to lead high-profile projects for IDOT, the Illinois Tollway, and various county and municipal agencies.
Thiswillbe an experienced Civil Engineer withdeep technicalproficiencyin transportation design anda strongto lead projects. This positionsupportscriticaldesign efforts and requires experience with Micro Stationalongsidetheabilityto managemultidisciplinary workflows.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Leadership- Independently manage andexecuteroadwayandhighway design tasks for projects of moderate to largecomplexitywith support and guidance of senior transportation engineers.
- Overseejunior engineersmanagingdaily tasks related to project deliverables.
- Leadassignmentsincludingroadwaygeometrics,ADA design,drainage system design, traffic analysis, barrier warrant analyses,and maintenance of traffic(MOT).
- Advance Modeling:
Perform high-level design primarily using Micro Station andOpen Roads Designer (ORD) 3D modeling software. - Perform traffic studies and analysis using HCS, Synchro, and other modeling software as required.
- Lead the development of preliminary design studies (Phase I), Project Reports, technical specifications, and quantity take-offs.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients;assistin scopingengineeringservicesand developing fee proposals.
- Familiarity with professional transportation organizations.
- Ability torepresentthe firm at professional transportationorganizationevents.
- Ensure technical accuracy by checking design computations and preparing Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Cost (EOPC).
- Manage engineering plan andpermitsubmittals to regulatory agencies and collaborate with structural engineers on bridge-relatedelements.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills and a willingness to tackle new or unfamiliar technical challenges.
- Ability to lead a team of junior engineers and technicians on a project basis and with respect to career development and advancement.
- Required:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. - Preferred:
Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Required:
Professional Engineer (PE) licensein Illinois. - Minimum8+ years of progressively responsible experience in transportation-related engineering.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Real Passportin order toundergo commercial airfare travel.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Proficiency with Micro Station andOpen Roads Designer (ORD) 3D modeling software.
- Experience with HCS, Synchro, and othertrafficmodeling software.
- Knowledge of Illinois DOT or Illinois Tollway standards and procedures preferred.
