Woodard & Curran is seeking a dynamic, detail‑oriented and client‑focused Professional Engineer to join our Drinking Water Business as a Project Manager. In this role you will partner with the Operations and Maintenance Division in delivering projects to municipal clients, developing, designing and delivering water projects across Missouri and Illinois.

The ideal candidate will be technically focused, with solid experience in evaluating, planning, designing and constructing drinking water systems. Experience with delivery of municipal wastewater systems is a plus. Familiarity with master planning, treatment and distribution systems is preferred. In collaboration with the Technical Manager you will help lead delivery of multiple projects, work directly with clients and internal teams, and support marketing and proposal efforts.

Work Schedule:
Expect 2 to 3 days in the office or onsite with clients.
Travel up to 25% to clients within Missouri and Illinois region.
Projects may include- Drinking water distribution capacity analysis and design
- Drinking water treatment system upgrades
- PFAS treatment systems
- Lead and Copper Rule project initiatives
- Wastewater treatment plant upgrade projects
- Septic expansion projects
- Managing and executing work on municipal water system design, planning, and construction projects by leading and collaborating with the Operations and Maintenance Division, multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants.
- Determining overall delivery approach for projects; partner with senior leadership to develop technical approaches on larger projects.
- Scheduling and tracking project budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
- Utilizing Woodard & Curran’s Project Management Framework to execute all projects.
- Demonstrating strong proactive communication skills to keep the project management and technical team updated as project work progresses.
- Connecting and working with external suppliers and subcontractors to support project delivery.
- Interacting with clients and representing the firm in a professional manner.
- Visiting client sites for meetings, proposal development and observing the status of construction projects.
- Coordinating with contractors and clients in the field during construction to ensure projects are executed in compliance with contract documents.
- Interfacing with state and local regulatory agencies and permitting officials.
- Conducting and coordinating QA/QC reviews on project deliverables to ensure technical excellence standards are met.
- Collaborating with leadership and resource leaders on staffing projects.
- Providing input on the development of design guidelines and standards.
- Preparing and delivering presentations and training programs to internal and external clients and professional associations.
- Supporting business development efforts under the direction of a client manager.
- 15–25 years of consulting engineering experience.
- 5+ years of Project Management experience.
- A B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; M.S. preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Missouri or Illinois (or ability to apply for reciprocity).
