Position Overview

Boeing is seeking a Senior or Experienced Mechanism Design Engineer to support a Next Generation Cruise Missile program in St. Louis, MO. This program requires individuals who excel at interdisciplinary collaboration and systems thinking. The goal is to provide new capabilities rapidly through prototyping to operate in unique environments with emphasis on safety, security and reliability. The program also requires coordination to meet the requirements for multiple stakeholders and to develop complex, highly integrated, advanced systems, enabling future growth for Boeing and our Department of Defense (DoD) customers.

Position Responsibilities
  • Support the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.
  • Support the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups.
  • Perform and document system performance using computational analysis tools to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Perform detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations.
  • Contribute to supplier development, test and production activities and direct the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
  • Prepare technical documents for mechanical components and systems.
  • Support system components’ design/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Experience with 3D solid modeling software applications (e.g. NX, CATIA, CADD).
  • Experience with mechanism / kinematic design.
  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). An active clearance within the past 24 months is considered active.
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access for which U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Level 4: 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Experience with Unigraphics (UG).
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in developing solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems, requiring ingenuity and innovation.

Level 3: $103,700 - $140,300
