Who We Are

The Behavior Helper Academy (TBHA) is a therapeutic school dedicated to unlocking the potential of students with diverse behavioral and developmental needs. We serve students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using evidence-based practices rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

At TBHA, we believe in collaboration, integrity, and growth — for our students and our staff. Our team works closely together, including paraprofessionals, BCBAs, teachers, therapists, and leadership, to create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment where meaningful change can happen every day.

Who You Are

You are a compassionate, dependable individual who is passionate about supporting students with special needs. You understand that progress takes patience, consistency, and teamwork. You’re comfortable following behavior plans, collecting data, and working closely under the guidance of a BCBA and instructional team.

You value professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical practice. You are calm under pressure, willing to learn, and open to feedback. Whether you are new to the field or growing your experience in ABA and special education, you are motivated by making a real difference in students’ lives.

What You Can Expect

As a Paraprofessional at TBHA, you will:

  • Implement individualized behavior and care plans designed by a BCBA
  • Support students in 1:1 and small-group settings throughout the school day
  • Collect data on behaviors, IEP goals, and daily activities
  • Assist students with daily routines, skill development, and behavior regulation
  • Use de-escalation strategies and crisis intervention techniques (training provided)
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a unified team
  • Receive regular supervision, training, and professional development
  • Work in a structured, supportive environment that values growth, safety, and teamwork

This is a non-exempt, 12-month position with opportunities for advancement as part of TBHA’s paraprofessional career pathway.
