We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Hospital Liaison to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team. This role is responsible for developing and strengthening referral relationships across hospitals, clinics, and senior-service organizations throughout the community.
The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about connecting patients and families with high-quality post-acute care services. This position plays a vital role in growing census, enhancing payer mix, and ensuring a seamless transition for residents into our facility.
Key Responsibilities Business Development & Census Growth- Meet or exceed monthly census, revenue, and quality mix goals.
- Develop and execute strategic marketing plans in collaboration with the VP of Business Development and Administrator.
- Identify and cultivate new referral sources while strengthening existing partnerships.
- Generate consistent, high-quality referrals through proactive outreach (95% field-based).
- Build strong relationships with:
- Hospital case managers and discharge planners
- Physicians and geriatric specialists
- Rehabilitation centers
- Assisted living and retirement communities
- Senior-service organizations and community groups
- Maintain up-to-date referral source profiles and activity logs in CRM systems.
- Conduct in-hospital and in-home assessments to support admission decisions and demonstrate value.
- Represent the facility at community events and professional associations.
- Organize and lead lead-generating seminars and presentations.
- Maintain awareness of local healthcare trends and competitor activity to strategically position services.
- Partner with the Admissions Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate admission processing.
- Ensure all admissions are clinically and financially appropriate.
- Collaborate weekly with the Administrator, nursing leadership, and department heads to align marketing efforts with clinical capabilities.
- Monitor discharges for potential re-admissions and manage both short- and long-term inquiries.
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Total revenue performance vs. budget
- Occupancy rates
- Quality payer mix (Private, Medicare, Insurance)
- Sales call activity and conversion rates
- Medicare-to-private conversions
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare sales experience targeting physicians, hospitals, or case managers preferred.
- Demonstrated success in developing medical referrals and growing census.
- Established local referral network strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of payer sources and reimbursement structures.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Professional presence with high energy, confidence, and self-motivation.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Active involvement in local healthcare or community organizations a plus.
