Position: Stepdown Nurse (RN) in Saint Charles, MO
An opportunity exists for a registered nurse skilled in Stepdown care to support patient recovery in a high-acuity environment. This contract position offers a focused night shift schedule in an acute care hospital setting, providing critical clinical experience with complex patient populations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care on the Stepdown Unit during night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Manage patients requiring vasopressors, sedation medications, insulin drips, trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
• Float within the facility to lower acuity units as needed, maintaining flexible competency.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic charting.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and standards of care.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years recent bedside nursing experience, particularly in Stepdown or critical care settings.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale.
• Ability to perform complex medication titrations and manage advanced medical devices.
• Recent hands-on clinical experience within the last six months.
• Willingness to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday) on nights.
• Pending nursing licenses accepted within a 75-mile radius.

Schedule:

• Guaranteed 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour night shifts.
