Expected Outcomes And Requirements

The Materials Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing material operations across multiple regional warehouses to ensure timely availability of equipment and supplies critical to ISP network deployment and maintenance. This role oversees inventory control, warehousing functions, and distribution strategies to support field operations and customer installations. The Sr. Material Manager will lead a team of Material Specialists and collaborate with procurement, planning, and field teams to maintain operational excellence.

This leader is expected to contribute in the following significant ways:

Warehouse Operations Oversight
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations across multiple warehouses in different regions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement best practices for material handling, storage, and distribution.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels to support ISP network buildouts and service delivery.
  • Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and coordinate replenishment strategies.
  • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure data integrity.
Team Leadership
  • Supervise and mentor regional warehouse specialist and staff.
  • Establish performance metrics and drive accountability for operational KPIs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with procurement, material planning, and field operations to align material availability with project timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal and contracted vendors to anticipate material needs for new deployments.
Process Optimization
  • Develop and implement standardized processes across all warehouse locations.
  • Leverage technology and ERP systems for real-time inventory visibility and reporting.
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities in material handling and transportation.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and present regular reports on inventory status, material usage, and operational performance.
  • Analyze trends to improve forecasting accuracy and reduce material shortages or excess.
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of procurement processes and ERP system utilization.
  • Implement and manage an inventory tracking process and system to track material movement from Gateway’s warehouse to construction vendors to placement in‑service.
  • Manage a safe, organized and clean warehouse that has zero workplace injuries.
  • Evaluating suppliers based on delivery speed for their products, services, price and quality.
  • Interviewing vendors and visiting existing supplier distribution centers and plants to examine, and learn about prices, products and services.
  • Negotiating contracts for the organization and working out agreements with suppliers for product delivery.
  • Meeting with vendors and staff to discuss unacceptable and defective products and establish corrective action.
