Job description:
- Be responsible for the overall management, operational performance, and strategic direction of the hospital.
- Oversee day-to-day operations while driving the execution of the hospital's strategic business plan.
- Ensure excellence in patient care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and organizational growth.
- Lead annual operating and capital budgeting, long-term strategic planning, and continuous performance improvement initiatives in partnership with the Governing Board and Medical Director.
- Ensure effective clinical outcomes, sound fiscal stewardship, maintenance of licensure and accreditation, and medical staff compliance.
- Organize hospital operations through effective departmental structure, delegation, and accountability.
- Build and lead a high-performing leadership team.
- Manage talent recruitment and retention, leadership performance evaluation, coaching, and foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous learning.
- Ensure staff participation in training and continuing education, including programs specific to children, adolescents, and families.
- Serve as a key representative of the hospital, building strong relationships with regulatory agencies, payers, community partners, referral sources, and local stakeholders.
- Lead contract negotiations and payer relationships, ensuring compliance, revenue optimization, and sustainable growth.
- Drive the development of a comprehensive continuum of care, including outpatient and community-based programs.
- Maintain continuous survey readiness, lead accreditation and compliance efforts, oversee QAPI initiatives, and ensure prompt resolution of patient safety and performance issues.
- Regularly report to the Governing Board, adhere to compliance standards, and participate in national healthcare initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA/MHA preferred.
- 35+ years of senior leadership or CEO experience in behavioral health, acute care, or managed care.
- Proven expertise in hospital operations, financial management, accreditation, compliance, and business development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change, influence stakeholders, and represent the organization with integrity, compassion, and professionalism.
