Job Description
A Material Handler carefully counts and verifies the identity and quantity of all materials processed and ensures that all materials are stored in the correct locations. This role also involves maintaining inventory accuracy and handling materials with precision.
Responsibilities- Move raw material parts in and out of systems such as QAD, Eagle, and KBM.
- Count and verify the identity and quantity of all materials pulled with high accuracy.
- Ensure materials are stored in the correct locations.
- Perform cycle counts of parts in selected locations to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Notify the Group Leader of any part shortages or damages.
- Perform basic data entry using the MRP computer system.
- Operate weigh scales, hydraulic pallet jacks, and drive forklifts.
- Inspect materials and completed work for correctness and quality.
- Responsible for proper material component identification.
- Determine corrective measures necessary to make the product acceptable.
- Complete daily records, forms, and charts of quality and work performed.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas at all times and complete daily area clean-up at the end of the shift.
- Participate in cross-training activities with other related positions and may substitute at any assembly workstation within the department.
- Provide 3Q6S housekeeping activities during material handling inactivity.
- Return all equipment, materials, and supplies to their designated resting places when not in use.
- Minimum 1 year of Material Handling experience
- Familiarity with inventory accuracy and control methods
- Knowledge of material handling and inventory control processes and methods
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience with RF Scanners preferred
- Experience with pallet jack operations
Skills & Qualifications
- 3-4 years of warehouse management, inventory, and receiving experience
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP
- Previous experience working within the automotive industry

Work EnvironmentThe St. Charles location spans over 350,000 square feet and employs approximately 250 staff across production and warehouse departments. As an electronic automotive manufacturer, the company produces and distributes OEM electronic parts for major automotive brands. The facility’s production and warehouse areas are clean, organized, and climate-controlled, resembling a hospital environment in terms of sterility and organization. The Material Handler position operates Monday to Friday, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM.
Candidates in shipping, receiving, or materials management must wear steel-toe shoes but are not required to adhere to GMP protocol or wear gowns, hair nets, or shoe slip-ons.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.25 – $18.25/hr.
