Job Function

The Material Handler prepares customer orders for shipping

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders

* Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed

* Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures

* Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards

* Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements

* Properly stencils shipping information as required

* Provides maintenance and keeps records of Maintenance on all equipment assigned

* Maintains clean work area

* Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures

* Participates in TQM and SPC meetings

Required Skills

* EDUCATION:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

* LANGUAGE

SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

* MATHEMATICAL

SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

* REASONING ABILITY:
Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

* PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

* CERTIFICATES:
Forklift Certification, Preferred

* OTHER ABILITIES:
Ability to work irregular hours
