Electronics Technician, Test Engineer
Job Summary
The Electronics Technician I is responsible for testing automotive components, developing component test systems, and assisting in various electronic design and development activities. The role requires a meticulous approach, strong technical competence, and an efficient work ethic to maintain high quality in all tasks.
Essential Responsibilities- Assist in creating new electronic product designs based on customer requests or internal development plans
- Assist with electronic part procurement
- Build prototypes and test fixtures, modify circuit boards, and assist in testing
- Assist in the development of electronic component test plans
- Assist in the design and development of test systems
- Perform testing according to test plans or work instructions
- Support bench level investigations
- Test final designs at different temperatures
- Conduct experiments, manage and generate accurate records and reports of testing completed
- Perform other job‑related support activities as required
Experience: 1+ years
Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Certifications: IPC J‑STD‑001, IPC‑7711, IPC‑7721 preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Extensive laboratory technician skills and equipment proficiency
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel preferred
- Proficient soldering of electronic components and PCB-level repair
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
- Advanced knowledge of SMT rework and repair
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Physical DemandsThe job requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending, and pushing/pulling/lifting up to 50 lbs. Occasional activities may involve crawling or lifting over 25 lbs.
