Position Title:
Press Brake Operator
Wage: $21.11 per hour
Shift: 1st
Hours:
6:00am-2:30pm (Mon-Fri)
- Performs tasks safely, including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements.
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates machines to produce quality parts.
- Opens and closes work orders in IQMS dashboard.
- Prints drawings in IQMS dashboard.
- Produces high quality parts from prints, knowing model numbers and required components.
- Consistently produces at an acceptable level of productivity with some supervision.
- Troubleshoots machine problems (machines, tools, etc.).
- Corrects machine and tooling setup for press brakes, drilling centers, and benders.
- Maintains tooling in top operating condition (sharpen in house or notify engineering when needed).
- Performs normal maintenance activities such as die sharpening, shimming, and mounting.
- Owns assigned equipment for 5S programs (cleanliness, spares, tool shadow boards, etc.).
- May program new products on CNC equipment using prints and machine/tooling knowledge.
- Makes recommendations for tooling replacement, repair, and purchase.
- Mentors and coaches other Machine Operators to improve skills.
- Assists in leading production team when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Previous machine operating experience preferred (tube benders, press brakes, steel saws).
- Ability to read tape measure, calipers, and micrometer (required).
- Understanding of metric and decimal measurements.
- Knowledge of computers to utilize IQMS.
- Skills in reviewing and accurately interpreting blueprint drawings for part number, tolerance, dimensions, etc.
- Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to work overhead.
- Walks or stands for a minimum of 8 hours with limited breaks.
- Pushing and pulling materials, using fingers and grasping parts and components.
- Exerts up to fifty pounds of force frequently.
- Maintains close visual acuity to perform inspections and operate machines.
- Tolerates extremes in weather and machine temperature.
- Tolerates loud noise.
- Extensive use of power and hand tools.
- Requires visual acuity to access details (prints, parts, work orders, etc.).
- Requires communication skills so ideas and instructions can be given clearly and understood.
- Requires ability to distinguish between speech, machinery, and other sounds.
