Overview
Position Title:
Robot Operator
Wage: $22.61 per hour
Shift: 2nd (2:00pm–11:00pm, Mon–Fri).
Location:
Saint Charles, MO.
QPS Employment Group has a Robot Operator position available at a company in Saint Charles, MO. This is a 2nd shift position with the opportunity for hire.
Responsibilities- Load and unload components into welding fixtures safely and correctly.
- Operate robotic welding equipment according to established procedures.
- Select and verify correct welding programs for production runs.
- Review and interpret blueprints and work instructions to ensure proper weld placement and specifications.
- Produce quality parts while minimizing scrap, rejects, and rework.
- Inspect finished welds and identify quality concerns or defects.
- Use grinders and other tools to remove weld imperfections and complete necessary finishing work.
- Change torch tips, clean nozzles, replace welding wire, and monitor shielding gases.
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and changing drive wheels when required.
- Assist with fixture changeovers and equipment setup.
- Maintain fixtures and tooling in proper working condition and report repair needs.
- Utilize IQMS or similar production systems to identify parts, track inventory, and complete production transactions.
- Complete required training and become proficient in operating all robotic welding equipment.
- Communicate production, quality, equipment, and inventory concerns to supervisors and team members.
- Maintain work areas for maximum safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Support other robotic welding operators and assist with production needs as assigned.
- Experience operating robotic welding equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with robotic welding systems such as:
Miller (hand weld);
Fanuc/Lincoln (robot weld); OTC (robot and hand weld). - Knowledge of welding fixtures and tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Ability to accurately measure fractions, decimals, and dimensions.
- Basic computer skills and ability to utilize production software systems (IQMS preferred).
- Ability to identify weld quality issues and perform basic corrective actions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and reach overhead.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and components as required.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, welding fumes, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and other safety gear.
- Previous robotic welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Fanuc, Lincoln, Miller, or OTC welding systems.
- Familiarity with welding inspection and quality control processes.
- Experience using manufacturing software systems such as IQMS.
