Overview
Position Title:
Robot Operator. Wage: $21.11 per hour.
Shift: 1st.
Hours:
6:00am-2:30pm (Mon-Fri). QPS Employment Group has a great Robot Operator position available at a company in Saint Charles, MO. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.
- Reviews and accurately interprets blueprints/drawings for part numbers, weld symbols, tolerances, weld placement, dimensions, and related specifications.
- Utilizes IQMS to correctly identify parts, determine part locations, check inventory, close out orders, and perform other daily functions.
- Selects the program that is on the robot.
- Produces quality parts with few rejects and minimal rework.
- Loads correct components into the fixture position without excessive force.
- Unloads finished assemblies, inspects welds, marks and repairs quality issues as needed.
- Uses a grinder to remove imperfections.
- Changes torch tips, cleans nozzles and performs other duties required for proper operation.
- Changes wire and monitors gases as needed.
- Cleans/changes drive wheels when necessary.
- Capable of changing fixtures with assistance from a supervisor.
- Maintains operation within approved robot manipulation parameters (Teach, Teach Enable, Block Forward, Block Back, Wire Feed). Consults a supervisor if issues cannot be resolved within these parameters.
- Keeps fixtures in top condition and notes issues with fixtures to aid correction, repair, and resolution.
- Completes in-house training and is capable of operating all robotic welders.
- Learns and demonstrates the ability to identify quality versus poor welding.
- Communicates inventory of consumable parts.
- Sets up the work area for maximum efficiency.
- Provides support for other Robotic Operators.
- Communicates production issues professionally and seeks clarification and resolution with front-line employees and management.
- Performs tasks safely, including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of fixtures.
- Ability to accurately measure fractions and decimals.
- Experience operating robotic welding machines is preferred (ideally Miller hand weld only, Fanuc/Lincoln robot weld only, or OTC robot and hand weld models).
