St Charles, IL (On-site)

Compensation: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour based on education, experience, and skills assessment

Multiple Openings:
All 3 Shifts Available

Shift Differentials: $1.00 per hour for 2nd shift, $2.00 per hour for 3rd shift

About the Role

A well-established chemical manufacturing operation in St Charles is hiring three Senior Maintenance Mechanics, one for each shift, to support a 24/7 continuous chemical process across a technically sophisticated multi-level facility. This is a hands‑on role supporting pumps, mixers, reactors, heat and cooling systems, motors, and related industrial equipment across multiple process areas. The facility is expanding from two to three shifts, and this is a great time to join a stable, growing operation with strong earning potential including overtime.

Candidates should know upfront that this is a chemical manufacturing environment involving heat, cooling systems, and hazardous materials. A safety‑first mindset is not optional here; it is the foundation of everything the team does.

The maintenance team is collaborative and cross‑functional, working closely with production supervisors, engineering, and quality control to keep a complex, automated operation running at peak performance. Quarterly maintenance shutdowns and an annual full plant shutdown provide structured time for larger projects and planned work.

Responsibilities
  • Perform hands‑on mechanical and electrical maintenance across a continuous chemical manufacturing operation including pumps, mixers, reactors, motors, piping, valves, and transfer systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including pump rebuilds, mixer maintenance, motor replacement, and wiring
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting including 480V systems and VFD diagnostics; PLC knowledge is a plus for candidates on certain shifts
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks and document work accurately in the CMMS
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimize production downtime on a 24/7 continuous process
  • Coordinate with production supervisors, engineering, and quality control on maintenance priorities and planned work
  • Support quarterly shutdowns and annual plant turnarounds which may involve additional overtime hours
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all PSM, OSHA, LOTO, and facility safety protocols
Requirements
  • AAS / Maintenance Certifications is required or an equivalent of 10+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Experience in a chemical, industrial, or process manufacturing environment is required; backgrounds from similar chemical or industrial operations are strongly
  • PSM program is a plus
  • Strong mechanical skills required including pumps, mixers, motors, piping, and related industrial equipment
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience including 480V systems and VFD diagnostics; candidates with electrical strength are especially needed for 3rd shift coverage
  • PLC knowledge is a plus but not required
  • Safety‑first mindset with demonstrated knowledge of OSHA compliance, LOTO, and hazardous material handling
  • Must provide own basic hand tools
Compensation and Benefits
  • $40.00 to $50.00 per hour based on education, experience, and skills assessment results
  • Shift differentials: $1.00 per hour for 2nd shift, $2.00 per hour for 3rd shift
