Educator Outpatient Surgical Services

Position Details

Clinical Staff Educator for outpatient surgical services at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Duties include supporting operating rooms, pre‑op/post‑op/PACU, gastrointestinal/endoscopic services, providing new hire orientation and follow‑up, and delivering ongoing skills education. Work Monday‑Friday for either 10‑ or 8‑hour shifts with start time depending on staff education requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

• Creates and implements staff education and professional development activities and programs that optimize patient outcomes.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ongoing educational and professional development activities and programs for clinical and non‑clinical areas.
• Collaborates with staff and representatives of other organizations to develop, present, and evaluate clinically focused training, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
• Participates in activities that promote safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborates with leadership to assess educational needs of staff and develop appropriate education plans.
• Participates in professional development and lifelong learning.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• 2‑5 years of relevant experience.
• RN license.
• OR experience preferred.

• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• 5‑10 years of relevant experience.
• BSLCA or equivalent certification.
