Role PurposeProvide direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.
ResponsibilitiesPromote patient‑ and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families on illness or injury management, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participate in activities that advance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Engage in professional development. Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care with defined goals, collaborating with interprofessional team members and patients or caregivers.
Proactively plan and communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, and consider patient preferences, values, spirituality, culture, and population‑specific needs. Maintain a constant state of alertness in this safety‑sensitive position.
