Description

We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (AP) for a 13-week locum tenens assignment in St. Charles, Missouri. The role primarily involves inpatient psychiatric coverage, rounding on patients, and documenting care in Well Sky. The provider will see approximately 20–25 patients daily, including new and existing patients, with some outpatient coverage as needed.

The assignment is at an inpatient psychiatric hospital in St. Charles, Missouri, with a small outpatient department. The clinical team includes approximately 1.5 psychiatrists and four full-time nurse practitioners. Around six providers are typically present daily, while weekends generally have one other provider in addition to the locum.

  Limited, with no fixed schedule

Pay Rate:

Malpractice Covered

• Round on inpatient psychiatric patients.

• Evaluate and manage new and existing patients.

• Document patient assessments, progress, and treatment in Well Sky.

• Provide inpatient psychiatric coverage and manage medications.

• Provide outpatient coverage as needed.

• Coordinate patient care with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other clinical staff.

• Manage a daily caseload of approximately 20–25 patients.

• Deliver care to patients primarily aged 17–68, with potential for patients as young as 12.

• Licensed and qualified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

• Prior clinical experience in psychiatry; experience may be accepted in place of fellowship.

• Board certification or board eligibility is not required.

• BLS and CPR certifications required.

• Suboxone certification is not required.

• Must be a local candidate.

• Must be available for the specified assignment dates.

  Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

• Weekend Coverage:
  One rotating weekend per month.

• On-Call:
  Not required.

• Work Week:
  Monday–Sunday, including scheduled weekend coverage.

• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, October 5, 2026–January 3, 2027.

• Inpatient psychiatric assessment and patient management.

• Psychiatric medication management.

• Clinical documentation using Well Sky.

• Management of new and established patients.

• Coordination with multidisciplinary psychiatric teams.

• Ability to manage a daily caseload of 20–25 patients.

• Flexibility to provide occasional outpatient coverage.

• Effective clinical communication and patient care.
