The 3rd Year Lineman supports the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead electrical distribution systems. This is a floating field position that requires flexibility to move between crews, supervisors, project locations, and schedules based on operational needs.

- Assist with constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead electrical distribution systems.
- Climb poles and work from bucket trucks and aerial equipment.
- Frame poles, install line equipment, string conductor, and assist with electrical connections.
- Perform assigned work using approved rubber glove and sleeve techniques.
- Read and follow construction prints, work orders, specifications, and jobsite instructions.
- Identify energized-line hazards and apply proper grounding and protective procedures.
- Complete job briefings and follow OSHA, customer, company, and electrical safety requirements.
- Communicate with supervisors, crew members, contractors, and customers.
- Inspect and maintain assigned tools, vehicles, equipment, and materials.
- Adapt to different crew expectations, project conditions, and work schedules.
- Travel between crews and project locations as assigned.
- Support emergency callouts, storm restoration, and mutual-aid work when needed.
- Third-year lineman status or equivalent apprenticeship progress.
- Minimum one year of hands-on overhead utility linework experience.
- Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
- Current OSHA 10 certification.
- Knowledge of overhead distribution systems, line tools, materials, and construction procedures.
- Familiarity with rubber glove and sleeve techniques, grounding, electrical theory, and energized-line hazards.
- Ability to climb poles and safely work at elevated heights.
- Ability to read construction prints, follow instructions, and apply coaching in the field.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively across different crews.
- Willingness to travel and change assignments every week or every few weeks.
- Availability for storm response, emergency callouts, and extended work schedules when required.
- Associate degree in Electrical Distribution Systems or equivalent field experience.
- Pole Top Rescue training.
- Bucket Truck Rescue training.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Equi-Potential Grounding training.
- Buck Squeeze training.
