Senior Lead Embedded Software Engineer – Support Equipment Company
The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Lead Embedded Software Engineer for its Armament Support Equipment team in St. Charles, MO. In this role, you will lead software development for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) used to load and test armament products in factories and field environments. You will work with a multidisciplinary engineering team to define requirements, design, implement, test, and deploy software, interface with customers, provide estimates, and deliver technical leadership while ensuring on-platform and off‑platform support equipment processes and releases meet quality and schedule goals.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with multi‑disciplined engineers to establish ATE system requirements.
- Provide software requirements, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance guidance to a team of engineers across multiple delivery streams.
- Interface with customers to understand and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
- Guide development, testing, troubleshooting, and release activities to ensure timely software deliveries.
- Develop and oversee technical roadmaps for product capability maturation and software commonality, coordinating with other ATE teams on common architectures while supporting existing hardware and software baselines.
- Mentor and support the professional development of less experienced engineers.
- Lead proposal activities for new and potential customers.
- Support Technical Design Reviews (TDR) and peer reviews for software and adjacent systems engineering tasks.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert for multiple aspects of ATE software products.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which U.S. Citizenship is required.
- 14+ years of full life‑cycle software development experience, including modeling, simulation, testing, and/or analysis using C, C++, C#, Python, or Linux.
- 14+ years of experience reading and interpreting system prints and schematics.
- 6+ years of experience leading software development and sustainment activities.
- 5+ years of experience with Field Service and/or Military Aircraft Support Equipment.
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, with 14+ years of related work experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 18+ years of directly related experience; or 22+ years of related experience.
- Experience leading teams in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
- Experience with NI tools and components.
- Familiarity with development tools such as Visual Studio, Git, and Jira.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Less than 10% travel.
Security ClearanceRequires ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which U.S. Citizenship is required. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance (post‑start) is required.
