Programmer / Analyst – Clinical LaboratoryDoctor's Data, Inc. is looking for a Programmer / Analyst for our clinical laboratory. In this role you will have the responsibility for defining specifications, documenting the solution and executing through seamless development phases to the end solution. Responsibilities also include reviewing, integrating and testing the software prior to production, testing to ensure that the code does not have any QC issues.
This role is also responsible for maintaining the existing code base.
- Will work alone or in a team setting to define specifications, document the solution, source control, and execute the solution.
- Performing peer code reviews to execute coding standards, code consistency, utilization of setup cases and adherence to application design.
- Responsible for accurately estimating scope/ resources/ time of project or iteration, including ability to meet deadline.
- Recognize bottlenecks and bugs, and devise correct action for these issues.
- Strong inter-relational abilities permitting viable and coordinated effort with developers, operations.
- Write clean, scalable code using C#.NET programming language.
- Must be able to complete a complex software lifecycle: scope, design, code, test and implement.
- Participate in requirement analysis and definition.
- Prepare code documentation in support of program development.
- Follow company software development guidelines and procedures.
- Debug, test and install new application programs.
- Debug and test existing application programs.
- Create and test software prototypes.
- Develop test procedures and test platforms for programs and/or programming functions.
- Confer with departments to identify software/reporting needs.
- Manage systems project timelines as they relate to programming.
- Assure system documentation by directing the writing of detailed descriptions of the system components.
- Create the training modules for user groups.
- Develop and implement software solutions that will empower the users as well as boost the overall operational efficiencies.
- Monitor the integrity of scheduled reports/tasks and jobs ensuring the proper flow of data into tables, updates, etc.
- Perform ad hoc reports on demand.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
- At least 3 years’ experience of total development experience in web related technologies.
- 2+ years’ experience with C# and .Net programming/developing.
- Proficient in relational databases Microsoft SQL, Oracle.
- Experience with clinical/laboratory systems highly preferred, including experience with HL7.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Multi-tasking and organizational skills a must.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and troubleshooting.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Strong critical thinking and root cause identification skills.
- Ability to remain current with terminology, concepts and best practices for coding.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to work well in a team setting.
- Ability to don and doff required PPE prior to entering clinical laboratory.
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
