Software III Developer - ServiceNow

Additional Information About the Role

BJC is currently seeking a Service Now Developer. The ideal candidate will have a Certified System Administrator and Certified Application Developer. We are looking for individuals with at least 5 years of experience in Service Now, and experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.

Partners with the CIO, hospital presidents, and other key clinical and functional leaders to effectively plan and assess BJC Information Services strategies. Analyzes ways to improve operations, and works proactively to integrate clinical, administrative, and IT solutions. Ensures ongoing support of existing IT systems to provide strong customer satisfaction. Responsible for effective project development and implementation which yield desired business results and the management of capital project scope, functionality, budgets, milestones, and workflow integration.

The senior developer in Technology is skilled to work on developing more complex software components as part of a product or platform team, to deliver value to stakeholders. This role provides technical leadership, designs, develops and refactors more complex applications, integrations between third-party solutions and/or customizations to third-party applications as applicable. Responsible for requirements analysis and design, developing code, the peer review of other software design and code, performing end-to-end testing, and contributing to all stages of software development.

This role will be responsible to lead troubleshooting of production issues involving off hours support as needed and to provide break fixes. Participates in risk management activities and leads remediation/mitigation plans.

• Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, refactors complex programs/scripts and integration services to deliver highly available and efficient solutions. Contributes to selection of the software development methods and supports continuous improvement.
• Maintains application support processes, ensure requests are completed according to agreed procedures. Uses application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports.
• Participates in requirement, design and specification reviews, and uses this information to design and execute test plans and test conditions mapping back to pre-determined criteria. Records and reports test outcomes.
• Ensures operational processes are in place for effective change control. Develops, configures and maintains tools to manage and report on change requests, issues and corrective actions.
• Carries out risk management activities for internal and external facing applications like identifying risks, security vulnerabilities, assesses their impact, probability and develops, executes medium complexity mitigation strategies.
• May be part of an after-hours on-call rotation.
