Office Support Specialist
- St Clair Shores - 40 Hours
- Days
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures accurate and timely entry, access, and retrieval of information from the electronic medical record.
- Responsible for assigned work queues and reports- identifying, resolving and/or reporting workflow issues. Generate and analyze routine and/or special reports.
- May obtain pre-authorization/authorization for ongoing services per payer requirements and communicate status of authorizations to the team.
- Works with third parties that assist with documentation review to identify and resolve issues in the workflow process.
- May collaborate with leadership to ensure that clinicians meet required productivity expectations regarding scheduling and customer status (i.e., hospitalizations and discharges).
- Provides office support and act as a resource for team members, customers, medical staff, and other professionals.
- Coordinates and processes bi-weekly payroll as required.
- May maintain morning and afternoon staff report-in process to ensure knowledge of staff schedules and safety in the field.
- Prepares, completes, and processes documents and records that require knowledge of departmental operations.
- Provides exceptional customer service in resolving problems with access to services, complaints, etc.
- May assist in making warm welcome calls to customers and/or caregivers.
- Participates in the orientation of new employees.
- Coordinates and initiate timely communication amongst staff and patients.
- Participates in initiatives related to process improvements and enhancements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- Requires high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Associates degree or college coursework in business preferred.
- Requires computer proficiency, the ability to accurately type, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with Outlook preferred.
- Requires strong organization and problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt rapidly to changing priorities and tasks.
- Requires previous Home Health Care experience or office/administrative support experience or completion of a college degree.
