Position Overview

Special Education Teacher – Contract

Location:

Saint Clair Shores, MI 48080.

• Help children develop social awareness appropriate for their age and developmental level.
• Provide specialized instruction, support, and advocacy to students with disabilities, ensuring their academic and personal growth.
• Tailor program to each child’s developmental level, interests, special needs, special talents, and individual pace of learning.
• Fill in where needed.
• Work cooperatively with instructional, support staff, and administrative staff.
• Participate in staff development activities.
• Complete required documentation of relevant activities and submit records and reports in a timely and accurate manner.

• Valid Michigan teaching certification or licensure for Special Education.
• Hold an ELA endorsement and an math endorsement.
• Classroom experience.
• Reliable transportation.
• Follow appropriate chain of command for all conflict situations.

• Monday to Friday during school hours.
• Compensation dependent on contractor’s experience, education, availability, and skills.

• Establish a relationship with one of the nation’s largest referral agencies.
• Compensated weekly.
