Job Goal:

The Noon Monitor is an integral part of the district's educational program. This position provides supervision, guidance, and support to students during lunch and other assigned supervisory periods while helping maintain a safe, positive, and orderly environment. The Noon Monitor promotes appropriate student behavior, encourages positive social interactions, and helps students engage in meaningful activities during unstructured times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and adolescents.
• Ability to communicate respectfully and positively with students, staff, and families.
• Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports To: Building Principal

Duties &

Responsibilities Include:

• Supervise students in hallways, cafeterias, common areas, and other assigned locations while maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
• Organize students for entrance into the lunchroom and assist with seating procedures as needed.
• Organize groups for orderly dismissal from the lunchroom and other assigned areas.
• Direct and monitor the movement of students throughout the building during lunch periods and transitions.
• Assist with maintaining a positive school climate by encouraging respectful and appropriate student behavior.
• Accompany a sick or injured student to the office or other designated location as directed.
• Maintain records and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Document and report student behavior concerns, incidents, or code-of-conduct violations to the principal or designee.
• Participate in required in-service training programs.
• Exercise sound judgment in observing, addressing, and de-escalating inappropriate student behavior.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with students and staff members.
• Communicate effectively with students and foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust.
• Follow oral and written directions efficiently and accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee in support of district goals and operational needs.
