The General Carpenter role is a full-time, on-site position located around Metro Detroit, MI. This role involves performing a wide range of carpentry tasks for rental rehab projects, including framing, installing doors, trim, and cabinetry, and completing finish work such as baseboards and molding. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing repair needs, measuring and cutting materials, operating hand and power tools safely, and ensuring work meets building codes and company quality standards.

The General Carpenter will collaborate with other trades, maintain a clean and organized work area, follow safety protocols, and complete assigned tasks within project timelines. This position may also involve light demolition, minor repairs, and occasional interaction with property managers or tenants to ensure a professional job site.

• Strong carpentry skills with experience in general construction and rental rehab environments.
• Proficiency with framing and structural carpentry tasks.
• Ability to perform finish carpentry, including trim, doors, cabinetry, and detailed interior work.
• Safe and effective use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in carpentry.
• Solid understanding of basic building codes, safety practices, and job site procedures.
• Ability to read and follow plans or instructions, measure accurately, and problem-solve on site.
• Reliable transportation to St Clair Shores, MI, and ability to work full-time schedules.
• Previous experience in residential construction or maintenance; rental rehab experience is a plus.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and working in various conditions.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
