QualificationsMichigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with DI, DX, or DQ (Science) 6-8 Endorsement
Job Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with state standards and district curriculum
- Teach a range of secondary science courses
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students, including English learners and students with disabilities
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and technology to support student learning
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and use data to inform instruction
- Provide timely feedback to students and communicate academic progress to parents/guardians
- Maintain accurate student records, including grades and attendance
- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
- Implement classroom management strategies consistent with school and district expectations
- Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities (PLCs) to analyze data and improve instructional practices
- Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs, 504 Plans, and other student support plans
- Provide academic intervention and enrichment as needed, including tutoring or extra help sessions
- Integrate real-world applications and problem-solving into science instruction
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with administrators, counselors, and support staff
- Uphold district policies, school rules, and professional ethics
