Civil Engineer

Staff Civil Engineer I – St. Clairsville, OH

Verdantas is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer I to join our team in St. Clairsville, Ohio. This role is ideal for recent graduates or emerging professionals who are looking to transition from academic learning to real‑world engineering projects.

• Conduct field inspections and document construction activities.
• Interpret design drawings and specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues with contractors on site.
• Perform soil and concrete material testing.
• Prepare clear and concise written field reports.
• Assist Project Managers with technical and civil engineering design or provide project management support.
• Perform technical engineering work associated with land development and/or water resources, including stormwater management design.
• Site grading.
• Erosion and sediment control design.
• Prepare plans for agency/municipal review.
• Completion of various land development and environmental permitting applications.
• Attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors.

• Associate degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (a bachelor's degree is a plus).
• 0–2 years of experience in land development and civil-site engineering.
• Familiarity with Hydro
  
  CAD or other stormwater modeling software.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (preferred).
• EIT preferred.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Salary range: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00.
