Estimating Representative – North Mankato, MN
The Estimating Representative will prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, analyze project specifications, collaborate with internal teams, and maintain documentation. This role supports decision‑making and continuous process improvement while balancing customer expectations with company profitability.
Responsibilities- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates using internal systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Analyze project specifications, historical data, and production requirements to determine pricing.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams (sales, production, customer service) to gather necessary information.
- Evaluate variables and identify risks, discrepancies, or opportunities in estimates.
- Prioritize multiple requests and manage workload to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
- Apply critical thinking and practical judgment to support decision‑making.
- Balance customer expectations with company profitability and operational constraints.
- Maintain documentation and records of estimating data and assumptions.
- Continuously review processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Must Have- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data analysis, organization of large datasets).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and apply common‑sense judgment.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills; able to prioritize competing tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Sense of urgency with the ability to balance speed and quality.
- Adaptable and flexible thinker; able to evaluate situations beyond "black and white".
- Creative problem‑solving ability.
- High level of accountability and personal ownership of work.
- Natural curiosity with a desire to understand the "why," "how," and "what if" behind processes.
- Comfortable working within established guidelines while exercising sound judgment when exceptions are appropriate.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to make balanced decisions that consider both customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in estimating, data analysis, print manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
Hourly range: $21.00 – $25.00. The actual base offered depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
