Position: Clerical, Class I, 200 Day

Hourly Administrative Support Position

This is the first level in the four level clerical group and is responsible for performing routine administrative support duties that could include filing and copying a variety of materials, entering and reconciling data, typing, answering telephones, cashiering, providing customer service, and scheduling a variety of events and meetings.

Professional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, communicating with families and the public, contributing to the school and district, growing and developing professionally, showing professionalism, and maintaining confidentiality.

Knowledge required includes customer service principles, English language, grammar, and punctuation, modern office procedures, meeting and/or special event scheduling techniques, basic report preparation techniques, recordkeeping principles, keyboarding techniques, and filing principles and practices.

Skills include using computers and related software applications, providing customer service, filing, scheduling and coordinating special events and meetings, keyboarding, using modern office equipment, maintaining records and files, and communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Essential duties include performing various routine clerical duties, utilizing standard office equipment, entering information into applicable databases, filing documents, processing, receiving, sorting, and distributing correspondence, deliveries, and mail, scheduling meetings and/or special events, assisting with tracking fiscal information, responding to requests for information from the general public, and other duties as assigned.

Physical factors include frequent walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing, and light work.
