Description
This is a highly responsible supervisory and professional position, providing management level direction and planning for a department within County Government, supervising administrative staff.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities may include supervision of professional, technical and clerical staff. This position will be responsible for facility/office issues; customer service, facility maintenance, etc., and responsible for Departments’ personnel issues; may act as liaison to Human Resources. This position answers telephones and correspondence on behalf of Department/Division/Deputy Director and handles customer complaints. This position will also train office staff in all areas of professional responsibilities.
Education,Experience, Licensing
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a four‑year degree from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field. Three years of experience in progressively responsible position with at least one year of supervisory experience is required. A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record is required.
Supplemental InformationThe successful candidate must have strong verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills, the ability to approve documents and correspondence, and supervise staff in their preparation of reports/projects. The successful candidate must also be proficient with computer software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.), and have the ability to communicate; verbally and in written form with all levels of Lee County employees and constituents.
Prefer candidate have knowledge of State Statutes, County Administrative Codes and County policies and procedures.
Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Emergency Response/Recovery ActivitiesAll County employees are required to work before, during, or after an emergency as needed. This may include temporarily being assigned to work and performing duties outside of the normal scope of their position, location and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.
