WhatYou’ll Do
We are seeking a driven and experienced Sales Representative to lead business development efforts for the construction of self‑storage facilities. This role focuses on selling ground‑up construction, expansions, and redevelopment projects to self‑storage investors, developers, and existing facility owners. The ideal candidate understands the self‑storage industry, can speak confidently about construction and development processes, and excels at building long‑term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, prospect, and engage self‑storage investors, developers, and current facility owners
- Sell ground‑up self‑storage construction, facility expansions, and redevelopment projects
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline from lead generation through contract execution
- Conduct consultative sales conversations to understand client goals, budgets, and timelines
- Present construction solutions, value engineering options, and project feasibility insights
- Collaborate with estimating, design, and project management teams to develop proposals
- Prepare and deliver proposals, pricing, and contract negotiations
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions related to self‑storage and real‑estate
- Maintain CRM records and provide accurate sales forecasts
- Stay informed on self‑storage market trends, construction costs, and competitive offerings
- Proven sales experience, preferably in construction, commercial real estate, or self‑storage
- Strong understanding of self‑storage facility development, construction, or operations (preferred)
- Ability to sell high‑value, long‑cycle projects ($500K+ construction contracts)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong self‑motivation and accountability
- Comfortable working with investors, owners, and C‑level decision‑makers
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and site visits
- Experience selling design‑build or general contracting services
- Background in self‑storage development, brokerage, or operations
- Familiarity with site selection, zoning, permitting, and construction timelines
