Pay Range: $72.09–$106.18 hourly / $150,523–$221,703 annually
Work Shift: Day Shift / Varies
Travel: Yes, up to 50% of the time
- Takes dental histories of all patients upon admission in order to determine extent of care needed.
- Examines patients and administers tests to identify dental malfunctions.
- Performs oral surgery as required to remedy dental malfunctions.
- Instructs dental assistants to provide oral care to patients.
- Orders laboratory examinations and analyses, x‑rays, and specific medication to provide complete dental care.
- Maintains records and reports to document patients’ dental progress.
- Supervises qualified dental staff to deliver efficient service to patients.
- Current licensure from the Minnesota Board of Dentistry.
- Considerable knowledge of general dentistry principles and practices.
- Skill in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of dental diseases and injuries.
- Knowledge of recent developments in general dentistry and modern medication uses.
- Ability to establish and maintain a dental clinic environment.
- Ability to provide leadership when working with incarcerated individuals.
- Ability to supervise dental assistants and therapists in clinical practice.
The selected finalist is required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis and may need to complete a tuberculosis screening and/or respirator clearance.
Additional Requirements- Criminal history and other background checks in accordance with Dept. of Corrections policy.
- Employment and reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will be conducted.
- New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days.
- The Dept. of Corrections does not sponsor work visas and does not participate in E‑Verify.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
