HMA Architects is a progressive architectural firm located in historic downtown St. Cloud, MN. We have been providing outstanding architectural and interior design services for over 30 years and are currently seeking a highly motivated Interior Designer Assistant to join our creative and hardworking team of professionals for a full time, in person position. A position at HMA provides opportunities to be involved in a wide variety of project types including: office, healthcare, military, hospitality, municipal, religious and multi-family housing to name a few.
This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting our team of designers.
Candidates must demonstrate initiative and ability to contribute to our team. HMA strives to provide innovative design solutions for all our clients no matter how large or small the project.
Successful candidates should have experience using:
- Sketch Up
- AutoCAD
- Revit
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the design team in developing solutions that align with client goals, budgets, schedules, and applicable codes.
- Support the design team with interior design presentations including imagery, finish selections, material boards, renderings, and furniture selections.
- Conduct product and material research to support project development.
- Maintain and organize the resource and materials library.
- Assist with construction documentation including floor plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, details, and schedules under team guidance.
- Collaborate with architects and external consultants/engineers throughout project development.
- Participation in community involvement, volunteering, and/or public relations activities is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Obtained a degree from an accredited interior design or architecture program
- Interest in pursuing NCIDQ certification
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Commitment to design excellence and client satisfaction
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment
