Locum Tenens Primary Care Physician

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Primary Care Physician specializing in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine to provide locum tenens coverage at a Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This opportunity offers a predictable weekday schedule, a collaborative Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model, and the chance to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to our nation's Veterans.

Compensation: $140-$150

Position Highlights
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • No Weekends
  • No Federal Holidays
  • Up to 80 clinical hours per week, plus up to 5 additional hours weekly for approved administrative duties, training, and patient care activities
  • Average 12 patients per day
  • Appointment lengths typically range from 30–60 minutes
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services in a team-based, patient-centered environment.
  • Perform preventive care including annual wellness visits, health screenings, and immunizations.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries.
  • Manage chronic medical conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, and other ongoing health concerns.
  • Provide patient education on disease prevention, nutrition, weight management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Evaluate and manage a wide variety of conditions including:
    • Acute and chronic medical conditions
    • Upper respiratory illnesses
    • Skin disorders
    • Musculoskeletal conditions and joint pain
    • Neurologic conditions
    • Women's health concerns
    • Geriatric care
    • Behavioral health concerns
  • Coordinate care with specialists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Initiate appropriate referrals, including specialty care and social work services when indicated.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with VA policies and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Provide discharge instructions and coordinate follow-up care.
  • Complete timely and accurate electronic medical documentation.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Active DEA registration
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Clear Office of Inspector General (OIG) status
  • Proof of medical liability insurance/indemnification
