Job Overview

University of Minnesota Physicians (M Physicians) is a non‑profit organization headquartered in Minneapolis. It employs more than 1,200 physicians, 300 advanced practice providers and 2,200 health professionals and staff throughout Minnesota and beyond. M Physicians, in partnership with Centra Care, is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic practice in St.Cloud, MN.

The orthopedic section is a multispecialty practice with fellowship‑trained sports medicine, adult reconstruction, foot and ankle, and trauma surgeons. The candidate will primarily work with the Sports Medicine team consisting of three surgeons and two PAs. Patient care will include clinic duties, assistance during surgical procedures, peri‑operative patient management, and independent evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal patients in outpatient and hospital settings.

• Clinic care, including evaluation and treatment of sports and musculoskeletal patients.
• Assist surgeons during arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, arthroplasty, cartilage restoration and other orthopedic procedures.
• Pre‑ and post‑operative patient care, including peri‑operative management at the Level II trauma center.
• Inpatient rounding and independent clinic or urgent‑care coverage.
• Trauma call coverage and orthopedic urgent‑care staffing as part of the practice team.

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult/Family Nurse Practitioner training program.
• Certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
• Licensed or eligible to obtain a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN Board of Nursing (NPs).
• Ability to meet threshold criteria for credentialing and privileges.
• Completion of a First Assist Training Program or documented first‑assist experience.
• Preferred: 2–3 years of experience in orthopedic surgery or musculoskeletal care.

• Salary range: $137,366–$168,454 FTE, commensurate with experience; incentive and specialty‑specific compensation may apply.
