Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee the implementation of district curriculum goals, philosophy, and policies within the area of responsibility.
  • Assist teachers in establishing meaningful goals, objectives, and evaluation procedures related to educational improvement.
  • Assist teachers in evaluating instructional methods, teaching skills, and the effectiveness of student learning outcomes.
  • Ensure that teachers meet individual student needs and abilities and promote satisfactory growth in basic skills.
  • Assist teachers in utilizing community resources within their instructional programs.
  • Support teachers in providing classroom environments conducive to maximum learning.
  • Maintain a workplace environment free of discrimination and sexual harassment and encourage equal opportunity for all.
  • Promote health and safety by eliminating unsafe or unhealthy working conditions; communicate safety procedures and train staff accordingly; manage lost time due to worker accidents or injuries.
  • Oversee staff training in the technical and procedural aspects of their positions.

  • Implement constructive student discipline practices that reinforce desired behavioral outcomes.
  • Promote an environment where students take responsibility for their behavior and demonstrate respect for school property and the rights of others.
  • Encourage appreciation for civil rights and responsibilities within democratic institutions.
  • Promote student development based on moral and ethical values.
  • Encourage and oversee projects designed to address special challenges or problems.
  • Support teachers who develop and implement innovative instructional practices and techniques.
  • Plan goals, objectives, and evaluation procedures for new initiatives and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Promote proactive problem solving, staff involvement, and improved productivity and customer service.
  • Involve students and staff in developing and maintaining reasonable standards of conduct.
  • Assist teachers in identifying sources of problems and involve them in the resolution process.
  • Make informed decisions by evaluating relevant facts such as costs, customer needs, policies, and potential outcomes.

  • Minimize classroom interruptions to maximize instructional time.
