Computer Systems Networking Instructor (Field 500094) – Part Time
St. Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC) is seeking qualified, student‑centered instructors to provide temporary teaching coverage during faculty sabbatical. This limited, part‑time position will teach from January 6, 2027 to May 14, 2027. Responsibilities include in‑person and online classes that can be split between candidates, teaching between 2 and 16 credits. Class times vary but are typically held Monday through Friday.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Facilitate student learning in both classroom and lab settings.
- Collaborate with colleagues and students to cultivate an inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive learning environment.
- Design and revise the curriculum to meet the needs of ever‑changing Computer Systems Networking trends.
- Engage in college committees and activities to support SCTCC’s vision of community learning.
- Provide holistic support designed to foster student success and the development of lifelong learning.
- Collaborate with faculty colleagues to build and maintain local industry partnerships.
- Associate degree in a computer or information technology field.
- Four full‑time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in networking, network administration, cybersecurity, or forensics.
- One year of this work experience within the five years immediately preceding the date of application (recency requirement) or two years of successful full‑time postsecondary teaching experience within the last five years.
- Ability to apply equity‑minded practices to support academic success for diverse students.
- Effective planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Communication skills with students and peers.
- Background check required (see below).
- Qualified Cisco Academy Instructor for IT Essentials, Introduction to Networks, or Cyber Ops Associate.
- Experience integrating simulation‑based learning technologies into curriculum.
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level, preferably at a two‑year college.
- Prior experience using D2L Brightspace or equivalent learning management system.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction and continuous improvement.
- Experience in curriculum development at the professional level.
- Bilingual/multilingual in Spanish, Somali, French, Hmong, or other languages reflecting the student body.
- Criminal background check.

Salary ranges from $24,800.00 to $52,800.00 for the term. Initial salary placement range: $1,379.50 to $2,302.81 per credit, dependent on qualifications. Salary based on the 2024‑2025 MSCF contract and number of credits assigned per semester.
Work Shift and TeleworkThe position includes in‑person and online classes that can be split between candidates. Class times vary but are typically held Monday through Friday. Telework is allowed for up to 6 credits.
