Position Opens: 06/08/2026 – 06/12/2026 @ 4PM
Bi compensation Pay: $18.93/hour ($14.93 entry‑level rate). Special education differential pay of $4.00 as outlined in the Memorandum of Agreement.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide research‑based social skills instruction and intervention under supervision of a certified teacher.
- Must be willing to attend additional required evening trainings or meetings during the school year or summer.
- Must be willing to accept feedback from specialists and special education facilitator regarding implementation and use feedback to implement changes in instruction.
- Must be willing to follow directives of classroom teacher, building administration, and district administration.
- Must be willing and able to work with students who are explosive in nature and engage in physical and verbal aggression towards others.
- Work with students having learning, behavior, physical, and/or cognitive disabilities, including those diagnosed with Autism and Spectrum Disorder.
- Provide services for special education students as needed in the special or general education setting.
- Under direction of special education teacher, provide academic assistance, behavior interventions, and instruction of social skills and daily living skills.
- Attend field trips with student as necessary.
- Ensure regular attendance to meet IEP and ensure provision of FAPE.
- Analyze given situation and respond appropriately.
- Interact appropriately with all students.
- Be a team player to assist in all aspects needed within the classroom, building, hallway, etc.
- Have good people skills to work with students in the classroom and building.
- Accompany students to and from the bus.
- Supervise students at various times (classroom, lunch, break, field trips, work sites).
- Work individually with one student or a small group as assigned.
- Assist students with changing clothes and other hygiene needs.
- Accompany one or more students to physical education and activity.
- Follow multiple behavior plans for students at the same time.
- Initiate activities with assigned student(s).
- Be flexible with assignment, changing duties when directed.
- Demonstrate personal qualities of responsibility with students.
- Be capable of climbing stairs, walking long distances, navigating training, and following specific procedures as directed.
- Implement accurate data collection and paperwork.
- Adjust schedule on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Build rapport with culturally diverse students.
- Support MTSS for behavior and academics.
- Meet Medicaid Fraud background check before hire.
- Handle assignments daily to meet needs of special education students.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned by administration.
Must be able to sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk, occasionally lift, move, or push items of up to 50 lbs. Must supervise all types of weather, meet multiple demands, and interact with public and staff.
Implement crisis prevention and intervention strategies.
Work EnvironmentWork may be indoors, outdoors, or non‑air‑conditioned. Requires speed, safety, and well‑being of student and staff.
Special Qualifications Desired- Ability to work with students with significant academic, behavior, and social skills difficulties.
- Genuine care and concern for all students and willingness to help them succeed.
- Demonstrated ability to follow directives of certified staff.
