Job Title

Qualifications:
Required
• Current K-12 teaching license (any subject area), licensure in Adult Basic Education (ABE), or a bachelor's or master's degree in ESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or Bilingual Education Preferred
• Previous experience working with adults
Position Summary:
This position provides quality instruction to adult learners in the core content areas as defined by the State of Minnesota, with a primary focus on English language instruction for non-native English speakers. Responsibilities include lesson planning using provided curriculum and supplemental resources, monitoring student attendance, collaborating with other instructors, and providing direct instruction in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The instructor also supports students in developing digital literacy and Academic, Career, and Employability Skills (ACES).
Essential Duties:
• Plan coherent, culturally relevant, and appropriate instruction while adhering to Adult Basic Education (ABE) standards in CCRS, ACES, and digital literacy
• Create a welcoming environment for all students with an established culture of learning
• Communicate clearly and accurately
• Engage students in learning
• Provide feedback to students
• Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness
• Maintain accurate records
