Quality Engineer (Onsite – Central Minnesota)
Looking for a hands‑on Quality Engineer to support a fast‑paced, high‑mix production environment. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to build, influence, and elevate quality processes across the shop floor.
This is not a desk job. This role is embedded in operations, working directly with production teams to drive continuous improvement and measurable results.
What You’ll Be Doing- Partner closely with Quality leadership to support and elevate plant‑wide quality initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement efforts (scrap reduction, returns, process optimization)
- Analyze inspection and production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions
- Lead root cause analysis (5 Whys, problem‑solving tools) and implement sustainable solutions
- Conduct capability studies and support process validation efforts
- Work cross‑functionally with Quality Techs, Plant Leadership, and shop floor teams
- Stay actively engaged on the production floor alongside welding, forming, and machining operations
- High‑mix, low‑volume environment, every day is different
- Fast‑paced, “managed chaos” setting vs. highly structured OEM environments
- High autonomy. You’ll be expected to own your work and raise the bar without heavy oversight
- Opportunity to make a visible impact quickly in a growing organization
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role
- Strong background in root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma tools (Yellow or Green Belt preferred)
- Comfortable working directly on the shop floor
- Self‑starter mindset, able to operate independently with minimal direction
- Experience in fabrication, metal, or job shop environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Quarterly bonus tied to company performance
