Engineering Technician – CADD​/Civil Design & Field Support

We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support the design and construction of municipal infrastructure improvement projects. This role combines CADD drafting, civil design support, and field construction observation in a team-oriented environment.

The position works closely with Project Managers and Engineers to develop construction plans, prepare technical drawings, and provide on-site support during construction activities.

• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and plan sets using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Convert sketches, redlines, surveys, and design notes into technical drawings
• Support production of plans, reports, proposals, and presentation materials
• Follow established CADD standards and project specifications

• Assist with construction observation, inspection, surveying, and materials testing
• Serve in a Resident Project Representative (RPR) role on active construction sites
• Document construction progress, quantities, and field reports
• Communicate with contractors, clients, and project teams regarding project updates

• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers in a team environment
• Attend project and client meetings
• Support multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety and documentation standards

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 2–5 years of CADD, drafting, or civil design experience preferred
• Proficiency with AutoCAD / Civil 3D required
• Experience with Sketch Up or ArcGIS a plus
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, plans, and specifications
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license required
• Willingness to work in both office and outdoor field environments
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform field work as needed
