Manufacturing Engineer InternAs an intern, you will support our engineering team on product lines, reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and based in our Anoka, MN office.
What you'll do- Create work instructions and/or operating procedures for new and existing equipment and products.
- Complete time studies and capacity analysis for bottleneck equipment.
- Document machine change‑over tasks and troubleshooting guides to improve machine uptime.
- Support the Engineering and Operations staff in process improvement activities.
- Generate reports and summaries of data and work performed.
- Perform process capability studies as needed.
- Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
- Create engineering change orders for print and document revision.
- Engineering student in an accredited technical college or university, preferably in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem‑solving, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and manage multiple priorities.
- Continuous improvement mindset and results orientation.
- Strong interest in working for The Kinetic Group.
- Hands‑on experience with Six Sigma tools and lean manufacturing concepts.
- CAD experience (Solid Works).
- Statistical problem‑solving skills such as DOE using Minitab.
- Experience in small‑caliber ammunition manufacturing.
- Shift: Monday-Friday (8-9 hour days)
- Summer Internship:
May – August
Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $26.00. The actual hourly rate will be based on experience, location, education, and skill set, agreed upon at the time of offer.
