- Support the Major Projects Group on active construction projects
- Participate in construction oversight and planning, field inspections, and safety observations
- Collaborate with Xcel staff to ensure projects comply with applicable engineering codes and standards
- Learn about drawing updates and field engineering changes during active projects
- Develop knowledge of managing professional project relationships
- Assist with internal documentation, project metric tracking, and reporting
- Assist with vendor outreach and coordination
- Apply engineering principles to real-time problem solving and field engineering
- Gain hands-on experience building projects from completed engineered drawings
- Current student, Junior or higher
- Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering
- Reliable means of transportation
- Able to commute to work 100% in-person at the assigned project site
- Able to work full-time during the summer, up to 40 hours a week
- Able to work part time during the school year, up to 20 hours a week
- Candidate must already live within a commutable distance or be able to relocate for several months
- 3.0 GPA or higher preferred
- Completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework preferred
- Experience or proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
Demonstrates knowledge in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering while applying engineering principles to real-time problem solving and field engineering. Capable of collaborating effectively with project teams and managing professional project relationships.
