FP&A Manager – ASD leads the financial planning and analysis function for the Abrasive Systems Division. The role is responsible for driving the division’s financial operational rhythm, supporting management processes, connecting operational actions to planning, leveraging analytical tools, supervising budgeting and spending analysis, and collaborating across the organization on special projects.
Responsibilities- Drive the ASD finance operational rhythm (strategic, operating, quarterly, monthly, weekly) ensuring alignment and process standardization.
- Support weekly and monthly financial management processes, reviews, and reporting.
- Connect operational actions to financial planning to drive accountability and execution.
- Leverage analytical tools, risk analysis approaches, data analytics, and statistical assessment to enhance understanding of financial performance and outlook.
- Support budgeting and spending analysis processes for R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Admin functions within the division.
- Collaborate with other division FP&A leaders, SIBG FP&A, and Corporate FP&A to improve processes and analytical approaches.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Seven (7) years of finance experience in private, public, government, or military environments.
- MBA or graduate degree in Finance from an accredited institution.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams and conflicting deadlines.
- Solid business knowledge and strategic thinking mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in a business finance role.
- Self-starter able to drive change.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Experience leading others and contributing on cross‑functional teams.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Risk management analysis skills.
- Experience with Longview.
- Experience developing Power BI tools.
- On‑site at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN; employees must work at least four days a week onsite.
- Travel may include up to 10% domestic/international.
- Relocation not authorized.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Expected compensation range: $164,612 – $201,193 (includes base pay plus variable incentive pay if eligible). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, disability, life insurance, voluntary benefits, paid absences, and retirement plans.
