Global Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Lead (Project Management)
Location:
St. Cloud, MN (Hybrid Work Option Available)
We are currently looking to add a Global EHS & ESG Lead to our Global Operations team in St. Cloud, MN. This position is responsible for establishing and supporting Microbiologics global Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs. As the sole member of the EHS/ESG function, this role will lay the foundation for company-wide safety, environmental stewardship, sustainability, and social responsibility initiatives while partnering cross‑functionally to ensure compliance and long‑term impact.
EnvironmentalHealth & Safety (EHS)
- Regulatory Compliance & Policy Management – Implement and maintain global EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements.
- Maintain regulatory documentation, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and required logs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS‑related questions and assist in audit and inspection preparation.
- Site Partnership & Safety Culture – Partner with site leaders and Safety Officers to support site‑specific EHS programs and reinforce a strong safety culture.
- Coordinate safety training programs, including onboarding, PPE use, emergency response, and laboratory safety topics.
- Hazard Prevention & Incident Management – Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, document findings, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Coordinate chemical hygiene, waste management, and environmental compliance activities.
- Strategy & Program Support – Support the development and coordination of Microbiologics ESG strategy and sustainability goals.
- Support Eco Vadis submissions with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Data, Reporting & Communications – Collect, track, and maintain data related to environmental impact, energy use, waste reduction, and other sustainability metrics.
- Assist in preparing internal ESG updates and external sustainability communications.
- Stay informed on ESG reporting trends and frameworks and support evaluation of relevant metrics.
- Engagement & Social Impact – Collaborate with Sustainability, DEIB, Culture Club, and other internal teams to advance environmental and social initiatives.
- Participate in community outreach and volunteer efforts aligned with company values.
- Foundation & Systems Development – Partner with the VP of Global Operations and leadership to establish foundational EHS and ESG processes and tracking systems.
- Build scalable documentation, reporting tools, and tracking mechanisms from the ground up.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and program expansion.
- Promote employee engagement and awareness in safety, sustainability, and social responsibility efforts.
- Represent EHS/ESG in internal communications, committee meetings, and wellness initiatives.
- Demonstrates Microbiologics core values by working collaboratively, taking ownership, and acting with integrity and confidence.
- Self‑starter who is comfortable building programs and systems with limited supervision.
- Passion for workplace safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience supporting EHS and/or ESG programs, including safety documentation and compliance activities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with data tracking tools or dashboards.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report on sustainability and compliance metrics.
- Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with executive leadership, site teams, laboratory and manufacturing personnel, and Safety Officers.
