Job Description

Exciting contract opportunity for dedicated professionals passionate about making a difference in student lives! Three full-time Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) positions are available for the  school year. These specialists will contribute to the support and development of students across several school sites, with collaboration at the center of this role.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience as a Behavior Specialist or similar role within school or educational settings
  • Valid BCBA certification OR a special education teaching license (tier 3 or 4 required for teachers)
  • Skills in implementing positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS)
  • Proven ability to conduct functional behavior assessments and develop effective strategies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to consult with staff and maintain a positive work culture
  • Flexibility and calm under pressure; able to respond constructively in crisis situations
  • Familiarity with creating and supporting Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Willingness to travel between 3-4 assigned school sites
  • Commitment to compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Main Responsibilities:

  • Consult and collaborate with other BIS staff, special education administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Implement and monitor individualized behavior plans and interventions
  • Provide training to school staff on recommended behavioral strategies
  • Collect, review, and utilize data to drive decisions and promote student success
  • Ensure safe and supportive learning environments
  • Adhere to district policies and participate in ongoing professional responsibilities

This is a full-time onsite contract role for the entirety of the academic year, including a training week prior to student start. Hours generally run from 8:30 to 4:10, totaling approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Compensation for this position ranges from $23.00 to $43.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
