Human Resource Specialist
Cor-Vanama Solutions d.b.a. Consumer Directions Inc. provides the payroll and administrative support to individuals who are part of various Minnesota Department of Human Services programs with the goal of the participant remaining in their home with the paid assistance of their family members and friends. Our passion is to help families navigate their journey through self-directed services.
This is a full-time, in-office position in our HR Department at our St. Joseph location. The candidate should be compassionate and dedicated to the individuals and families we support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-driven, and will support the administration of employee benefits, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide frontline HR support to our employees. This role helps ensure employees understand and can access their benefits while helping the organization remain compliant with employment laws and internal policies.

This position offers strong growth potential for someone looking to build a long-term career in Human Resources. As the organization grows, this role can evolve into expanded responsibilities in Benefits, Compliance, Employee Relations, and HR operations.
Core Responsibilities- Assist with enrollment, changes, and terminations for medical, dental, vision, and other benefit plans
- Respond to employee questions regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and claims
- Support annual open enrollment and benefits communications
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, COBRA, ACA, I-9, Wage and Hour, and Leave Laws)
- Attend, in person or virtually, employment seminars, workshops, and trainings
- Assist with reporting, audits, and compliance requests
- Help promote a positive, supportive employee experience
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
- Familiarity with employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience in a managerial role
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience with benefits administration
- Knowledge of COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and state leave programs
- This position may be completed sitting or standing.
- This position may infrequently require lifting up to 20 lbs.
- This position may require local travel to our second office location or training venue.
- High School Diploma
- Managerial Experience
- Preferred:
Human Resources Certification
- Upon hire, all candidates must pass a state-run background check and complete fingerprinting.
- Upon hire, candidates will be subject to a driving record check and must possess a valid driver's license.
- Salary Range: $24-$27/hour; 40 hours a week
